VA Puget Sound Healthcare System
About VA Puget Sound Healthcare System
The VA provides mental health services to veterans of all discharge statuses and service histories. Services address PTSD, depression, anxiety, military sexual trauma, suicide prevention, and readjustment to civilian life. Veterans can access care through VA medical centers, Vet Centers, or telehealth options. Services range from peer support with other veterans to counseling, therapy, and medication management. Care is available 24/7 through crisis lines and walk-in services at VA facilities. Over 1.7 million veterans received mental health services at the VA in the prior year. Online resources include the Veteran Training self-help portal and mental health apps. The BeThere peer assistance program connects service members and veterans with fellow veterans who have similar experiences.
