Anchorage Inc

The Anchorage is a faith-based residential ministry in Albany, Georgia that provides treatment for men and women suffering from alcohol and drug addictions. The program has been operating for over 70 years and serves approximately 50 men at a time through a Christ-centered approach based on Biblical principles. The organization believes that a relationship with Jesus Christ is foundational to overcoming alcohol and drug dependencies and relies on Divine intervention and the power of the Holy Spirit as core to its therapeutic model. In 1987, the program expanded to treat all substance addictions beyond alcohol. The Anchorage charges only a nominal admission fee with no other costs to participants or families, as it is supported by churches, individuals, foundations, and donations rather than federal or state funds. To date, the organization has served over 14,000 men and plans to expand services to women.
