Great to meet you

Child Guidance Center (CGC) has been empowering children and their families to achieve health and wellness through mental health care since 1967. Located in Santa Ana, California, CGC provides culturally sensitive mental health services to Orange County's underserved populations, including veterans and military families. The organization focuses on early intervention, prioritizing emotional and behavioral wellness, and offering comprehensive care to build foundations for lifelong wellness. CGC also provides mental health training programs and advocates for the mental health needs of families who are often overlooked.

Role

Residential Treatment

Evidence-based approaches

Cognitive behavioral therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Spots the thought-feeling-action loops that fuel urges, then rewires them with practical skills you take into the moment.

Couples/family therapy

Family Therapy. Brings the people closest to the recovery into the room. Less about blame, more about updating the patterns that fed the cycle so the home becomes part of the recovery.

Group therapy

Group Therapy. A small facilitated circle where people working on similar struggles practice naming what is hard, hearing themselves in others, and learning skills together. The room is the medicine.

Integrated mental and substance use disorder treatment

Integrated Treatment. Treats addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions in the same plan, rather than sequentially. Most clinically effective when both are present.

Individual psychotherapy

Individual Psychotherapy. One-to-one sessions with a licensed clinician. The standard-bearer of mental-health care; most evidence-based plans build around it.

Telemedicine/telehealth therapy

Telehealth Therapy. Real clinical sessions delivered over video. Same evidence base as in-person care for most conditions; meets you where you actually are instead of where the office is.
