About Urban Indian Center of Salt Lake
Urban Indian Center of Salt Lake is a clinical and community center serving Native American and Alaska Native communities in the Salt Lake City area and five surrounding counties. The center provides behavioral health, primary care, public health, family and community services exclusively to members of federally recognized tribes, including the eight tribes of Utah. Services include cultural programming such as language preservation, pow wows, community gardening, wellness trainings, and elders programs. The organization operates from multiple locations including Salt Lake City, Murray, and West Valley City, Utah, and serves approximately 5,587 clinical and behavioral health patients annually. UICSL is committed to providing accessible, culturally responsive care to a vulnerable population where over 26% live at or below 150% of federal poverty level and 25.7% lack health insurance.
