Treatment typically involves 8 to 10 weekly sessions with a therapist, complemented by peer support, allowing clients to continue living at home and maintaining their regular life and work. The Gambling Clinic offers in-person services in Memphis, Nashville, and Johnson City, as well as telehealth options for individuals anywhere in Tennessee. They are part of the Tennessee Institute for Gambling Education and Research (TIGER), based at the University of Memphis and East Tennessee State University. The clinic integrates research findings into their clinical practice, and their research is grounded in client experiences. They have helped over 2,500 people overcome gambling problems and have published academic articles on gambling research. A recent study found that 87% of people who completed their program showed a reduction in gambling-related harms.
