About LifeBridge Community Services

LifeBridge Community Services is a behavioral health provider serving the Greater Bridgeport community since 1849. Originally founded as the Ladies Relief Society during the Civil War, the organization has evolved through several iterations to become a leading provider of behavioral health services. LifeBridge partners with individuals, youth, and families to improve well-being, strengthen resilience, and create a brighter future. The organization is rooted in the belief that resilience—the capacity to cope with stress and trauma over time—grows through building inner skills, developing problem-solving abilities, and fostering caring relationships and safe environments. In addition to behavioral health services, LifeBridge operates two additional divisions: Sign Language Interpreting Services and Senior Meals on Wheels. The organization is located in Fairfield County, Connecticut, and addresses the significant challenges facing Bridgeport, including historical systemic issues, violence, economic and educational inequality, and racial disparities.
