L.A. McCrae

Dr. L.A. McCrae, Chief Clinical Officer of Orange Oasis, is a clinician and recovery chaplain based in Bel Air, Maryland. Dr. McCrae holds a Doctorate of Ministry from Wesley Theological Seminary with a focus on recovery chaplaincy, and a doctorate in addiction recovery from the New Theology School, where they hold the title of Stokely Carmichael/Kwame Toure Professor of Street Theology. As Director of Integrated Behavioral Health at Orange Oasis, Dr. McCrae develops programs and curricula for adults, with expertise in complex trauma, addiction recovery, and socio-behavioral epidemiology including traumatic brain injury. Dr. McCrae's clinical work is grounded in carceral abolition and trauma-informed approaches, serving historically marginalized communities and addressing the opioid crisis through collaborative community partnerships.
