Great to meet you

Flynn Fellowship Home of Gastonia is a recovery residence established in 1966 that provides a safe, structured environment for men in recovery from alcohol and substance use disorder. The program offers therapeutic support, fellowship, and structured daily living to foster accountability and independence. New residents attend SACOT/IOP with Phoenix Counseling for their initial 2 to 3 months. Residents participate in 12-step recovery programs and regular Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, with a minimum stay commitment of nine months. The home provides clean rooms, nutritious meals, employment assistance, and access to community resources. Located in Gastonia's historic district, it serves men transitioning from hospitals and treatment facilities toward greater stability and self-sufficiency.

Evidence-based approaches

Cognitive behavioral therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Spots the thought-feeling-action loops that fuel urges, then rewires them with practical skills you take into the moment.

Motivational interviewing

Motivational Interviewing. A collaborative conversation that strengthens your own reasons for change rather than arguing you into it.

Relapse prevention

Relapse Prevention. Identifies your specific high-risk situations, warning signs, and choice points. Then builds a written, rehearsed plan for each so the moment is not the first time you decide.
