The Lord Fairfax House is a co-ed community transitional residential facility established in 1976 and located at 512 S Braddock St, Winchester, VA 22601. It serves chemically dependent adults seeking recovery from alcohol and drug addiction in a safe, structured, alcohol and drug-free environment. The facility is operated by individuals with backgrounds in substance abuse services, many of whom are themselves in recovery. The program is 90 days and includes introduction to the recovery community, 12-step meetings, sponsorship, peer mentoring, individual and group counseling, case management, job readiness training, life skills development, and aftercare planning. Admission requires an interview and assessment process, with the primary qualifying factor being a desire to be clean and sober. Participants must be chemical free and detoxed at the time of admission. The primary aim is to help individuals develop the disciplines of long-term sobriety and re-integrate with family and community while achieving financial security and personal growth.

There is an interview and assessment process prior to acceptance. Those accepted into the 90-day program will complete a service plan that describes program expectations and participant responsibilities.
