Child and Family Guidance Center
About Child and Family Guidance Center
The Child & Family Guidance Center has been serving Fairfield County since 1925, providing culturally informed mental health services and complementary supports to children, teenagers, and their families regardless of ability to pay. The center operates two locations in Bridgeport and Norwalk, Connecticut. Services include emergency crisis intervention, individual and family counseling, parenting and family support programs, and a supervised visitation center for non-custodial parent-child visits. The organization addresses a wide range of childhood and adolescent mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma exposure, school avoidance, substance use, grief, and behavioral challenges. Treatment is available on a sliding scale fee basis, with many behavioral health and family services offered free of charge. The organization accepts Medicaid (HUSKY A in Connecticut) and the Children's Health Insurance Program (HUSKY B in Connecticut), and does not deny services based on inability to pay, race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics.
