About Charleston Center
Charleston Center (DAODAS) is a substance use prevention, intervention, education, and treatment center operated by Charleston County's Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services. The organization's mission is to help residents of Charleston County live productive lives free from the impact of alcohol, other drugs, and addictive behaviors, promoting active recovery for persons whose lives are affected by addiction. Charleston Center recognizes addiction as a chronic, progressive disease that can be fatal if left untreated. The center provides residential treatment services and withdrawal management, outpatient services, Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Program (ADSAP), medication assisted treatment including all FDA approved medications, urine drug screening lab services, and prevention/education services. Walk-in assessments and ADSAP intakes are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 3 PM, or by appointment. Detoxification, residential units, and the 24-hour helpline are available 365 days a year. Outpatient groups and services have flexible scheduling including evening hours. The center is located at 3685 Rivers Ave., N. Charleston, SC 29405.
