Buffalo Plains Recovery is the only licensed non-hospital medical detox facility in Western South Dakota, located in Rapid City in the Black Hills. They provide medically supervised detox and a full continuum of care for adults struggling with substance use disorders. The program specializes in treating alcohol addiction, opioid and fentanyl use, methamphetamine and stimulant dependency, prescription drug misuse, and dual diagnosis cases where mental health challenges co-occur with substance use. Their team includes licensed counselors, peer mentors, and medical staff who deliver evidence-based therapies including medication-assisted treatment and trauma-informed care. Clients participate in daily programming including individual therapy, group sessions, relapse prevention, and life skills development. The facility offers 24/7 medical and clinical support and is designed with private rooms and bathrooms in a serene setting. Treatment plans are customized, with most clients staying between 30 to 90 days.
