Youth Health Service (YHS) serves children and families in North-Central West Virginia, including Randolph and Tucker Counties and connecting regions of Barbour and Pocahontas Counties. Established in 1978, YHS operates three divisions: Behavioral Health Services providing mental health and social services to children ages birth through 17 years (licensed as a Behavior Health Center since 1989), Home Ties Child Development Center serving children 6 weeks to 12 years in a nationally accredited setting with small classroom sizes and developmentally appropriate activities, and Home Ties Strengthening Families Resource Center offering support to all families in the area with children up to age 18. The organization is guided by core beliefs emphasizing growth opportunities, cultural competence, ethical service, and collaborative community resources.
