The Young People's Foundation (YPF) is a certified substance use disorder program with the Department of Healthcare Services, founded in 2012. Located in Whittier, California, YPF serves young people ages 12-18 and young adults 18-21 recovering from substance use disorder. The organization provides outpatient and intensive outpatient SUD treatment, mentorship programs, and drug education groups through a trauma-informed approach. Services are delivered in diverse settings including juvenile halls, residential treatment facilities, shelters, and homes. The team consists of licensed and certified professionals and peer support specialists with lived experience in recovery. YPF aims to help clients develop productive, socially acceptable lifestyles and learn to enjoy life without mind-altering substances. Most services are covered by Medi-Cal, and the organization is also funded by grants to provide no-cost treatment.
