Great to meet you

Nevada's Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) provides a comprehensive system of child welfare, mental health, victim services, and juvenile justice programs across the state. The organization operates through three regional service areas: the Rural Region as a state-supervised and administered delivery system, and Clark County Department of Family Services and Washoe County Human Services Agency in their respective counties. DCFS provides mental health services to children, adolescents, and families through Southern Nevada Child and Adolescent Services and Northern Nevada Child and Adolescent Services in Clark and Washoe Counties. The agency also operates Juvenile Justice Services for youth ages 12-21 committed for delinquent behavior or mental health treatment services, victim assistance programs for those affected by crime and domestic violence, and a Confidential Address Program to support victims of abuse seeking a fresh start.

Role

Therapist

Evidence-based approaches

Cognitive behavioral therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Spots the thought-feeling-action loops that fuel urges, then rewires them with practical skills you take into the moment.

Couples/family therapy

Family Therapy. Brings the people closest to the recovery into the room. Less about blame, more about updating the patterns that fed the cycle so the home becomes part of the recovery.

Dialectical behavior therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Pairs acceptance with change. Especially useful when emotions feel too big to ride out without acting on them.

Individual psychotherapy

Individual Psychotherapy. One-to-one sessions with a licensed clinician. The standard-bearer of mental-health care; most evidence-based plans build around it.

Telemedicine/telehealth therapy

Telehealth Therapy. Real clinical sessions delivered over video. Same evidence base as in-person care for most conditions; meets you where you actually are instead of where the office is.
