Wellspring is a non-profit educational organization founded in 1982 in Milwaukee and relocated to near Newburg, Wisconsin in 1988. The organization supports activities that help people live in peace and harmony with themselves, others, and the earth. Wellspring operates an organic farm and educational programs on 33 acres that includes ponds, wetlands, woods, and half a mile of Milwaukee River frontage. In 2022, the organization converted 28 acres into a nature conservancy to preserve the land in perpetuity. The organization previously operated a hospitality program including a hostel and bed and breakfast, which has been discontinued. Wellspring is now partnering with Riveredge Nature Center for educational programming and has transferred farm operations to Winterspring CSA, which feeds hundreds of families during the growing season.
