Great to meet you

WellFully is a comprehensive behavioral health organization in western South Dakota that serves at-risk adolescents. Founded in 1990 as WellSpring and renamed in 2017, the organization provides residential addiction recovery programs, psychiatric residential treatment, crisis care, and outpatient services. Their integrated approach combines counseling, medical treatment, and educational services. They operate the Girls Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility, Boys and Girls Addiction Recovery Programs, the Soaring Eagle Outpatient Addiction Recovery Program, the LAB After School and Summer Program, and South Dakota's only Adolescent Crisis Care Center. Most clinical services require a referral, though the LAB Program and Crisis Care Center are open to the public without referral requirements. Approximately 98% of youth served have experienced poverty, and 74% have experienced abuse and neglect.

Evidence-based approaches

Group therapy

Group Therapy. A small facilitated circle where people working on similar struggles practice naming what is hard, hearing themselves in others, and learning skills together. The room is the medicine.

Trauma-informed care

Trauma-Informed Care. Approaches addiction as something layered on top of unprocessed trauma, not in isolation. Pacing matters more than confrontation.
