About
Volunteers of America Los Angeles (VOALA) is a faith-based non-profit human services organization founded in 1896 that provides a broad scope of support and services regardless of race, sex, age, or religious preference. VOALA serves homeless youth, families, children, veterans, and women through housing and shelter services, children and family services, veterans services, education and empowerment programs, and recovery and re-entry services for people coming out of the criminal justice system. The organization also operates the Victims Assistance Sanctuary, which serves victims of human trafficking nationwide. VOALA programs address issues including depression, anxiety, PTSD, TBI, substance use disorders, homelessness, unemployment, and lack of education. They view homelessness as a temporary challenge and emphasize self-sufficiency, stability, and empowerment for all populations served.
