Up Center

The Up Center (formerly Norfolk United Charities, founded in 1883) is a regional nonprofit providing mental health counseling, foster care services, and support for military families across Hampton Roads. The organization serves youth, adults, and military families through prevention, intervention, and ongoing support programs. Services include mental health counseling, foster care placement with dedicated parents, financial guidance for military families, and service delivery through telehealth. The Up Center has evolved to address emerging community needs including mental health, substance use, and veteran support.
