Great to meet you

True Purpose Ministries is a faith-based, residential addiction recovery program providing evidence-based treatment and housing for men and women in Tennessee. The program is state-licensed and operates a 12-month structured therapeutic community model centered on Jesus Christ-based spiritual principles combined with clinical treatment. The organization offers an evidence-based curriculum including Seeking Safety, CBT, MRT, 12-step facilitation, and relapse prevention through group therapy and individual therapy sessions. Each client completes an alcohol and drug assessment to determine appropriate level of care and receives an individualized treatment plan for a 90-day clinical phase, followed by optional discipleship programming for continued support. True Purpose Ministries also provides vocational training to help clients develop job skills for reintegration into society. The program serves individuals struggling with substance abuse and is described as low-cost, with partnerships with local businesses and contractors for job placement assistance.

Evidence-based approaches

Faith-based

A therapeutic approach included in this provider’s plan of care. Contact for specifics on how it shows up in their work.

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Spots the thought-feeling-action loops that fuel urges, then rewires them with practical skills you take into the moment.

Group therapy

Group Therapy. A small facilitated circle where people working on similar struggles practice naming what is hard, hearing themselves in others, and learning skills together. The room is the medicine.

12-step facilitation

Twelve-Step Facilitation. Helps you engage with mutual-aid fellowships (GA, AA, SMART) as a recovery community rather than a solo grind.

Holistic

Holistic Care. Adds nutrition, sleep, movement, and mind-body practices alongside the clinical work. Recovery is whole-person; the body matters too.

Trauma-informed care

Trauma-Informed Care. Approaches addiction as something layered on top of unprocessed trauma, not in isolation. Pacing matters more than confrontation.
