Talbott Legacy Centers (TLC) operates nonresidential, comprehensive opioid treatment programs specializing in the treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD), also known as prescription painkiller, fentanyl, and heroin addiction. Located in Eastern Tennessee, TLC provides evidence-based treatment using FDA-approved medications including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone, along with individual and group counseling, medical evaluation, case management, and recovery support services. The organization was formed in June 2019 and named after Patricia Hall Talbott, a physical therapist and community advocate. TLC's approach addresses the substance use and overdose epidemic through holistic healing that encompasses medical, psychological, sociological, economical, and spiritual areas of treatment, recognizing opioid use disorder as a chronic brain disorder.

MAT
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). Pairs FDA-approved medications with counseling and behavioral therapy. Standard of care for opioid and alcohol use disorder; emerging evidence in gambling for impulsivity-targeting agents.
Group therapy
Group Therapy. A small facilitated circle where people working on similar struggles practice naming what is hard, hearing themselves in others, and learning skills together. The room is the medicine.
Medication management
Medication Management. Ongoing monitoring + adjustment of psychiatric or addiction medications by a prescribing clinician. Often paired with therapy, not in place of it.
