Great to meet you

The Sylvia Brafman Mental Health Center is a mental health treatment center specializing in primary mental health diagnoses and co-occurring substance use disorders. Founded by Jaime Blaustein and Ben Brafman, the center addresses a gap in quality, evidence-based treatment focused on mental health rather than substance abuse. The center employs a unique "5 Lanes" approach that simultaneously addresses clinical, psychiatric, medical, spiritual, and vocational aspects of treatment. The program emphasizes trauma-informed care, family involvement throughout treatment, and long-term recovery planning. The center offers rigorous assessment and continuous evaluation of primary mental health conditions, complemented by innovative modalities such as TMS and genetic testing. Treatment is individually tailored and designed to move patients from existing to thriving. The center operates as an intimate facility with a cohesive team of five mental health experts, each pioneering their respective lane of treatment.

Evidence-based approaches

Trauma-informed care

Trauma-Informed Care. Approaches addiction as something layered on top of unprocessed trauma, not in isolation. Pacing matters more than confrontation.

Family systems

Family Systems work. Brings the people closest to you into the recovery picture, since urges and relationships rarely live in separate boxes.

Group therapy

Group Therapy. A small facilitated circle where people working on similar struggles practice naming what is hard, hearing themselves in others, and learning skills together. The room is the medicine.
