Recovery Court of Sumner County, Inc. is a court-based program located in Gallatin, Tennessee that serves individuals with substance abuse or mental health issues involved in the justice system. The program operates a Behavioral Health Court that uses a problem-solving model instead of traditional case processing. Participants receive mental health support through community partnerships, attend regular court sessions, maintain medication compliance, and attend self-help meetings. The organization is a 501(c)(3) that works closely with the court and staff to identify and support services crucial to participants' successfully completing the program. The goal is to help participants become productive, law-abiding citizens while reducing incarceration length, recidivism rates, and crimes related to substance abuse or mental health. The program is funded by the State of Tennessee, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and through a Highway Safety Grant.
