Step Denver

Step Denver is a transitional housing and addiction recovery program founded in May 1983 in Denver, Colorado. The organization serves men struggling with homelessness and addiction, providing residential recovery support based on three founding pillars: sobriety, work, and accountability. Step Denver operates a 50-bed residential program and multiple sober living homes, utilizing the Steps for Success curriculum that integrates peer support, economic opportunity, and self-reliance. The program recognizes that sustained addiction recovery requires more than abstinence alone, emphasizing long-term peer support in structured environments. Step Denver expanded to Colorado Springs with the opening of Step Springs in October 2025. The organization is led by CEO Meghan Shay and operates as the parent organization Step Recovery, with plans to expand services throughout Colorado and beyond.
