The Spartanburg Area Mental Health Center is a comprehensive outpatient facility serving Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union Counties in South Carolina through clinics in Spartanburg, Gaffney, and Union. The center provides emergency services, diagnostic assessment, outpatient counseling, psychiatric treatment and therapy, crisis intervention, and case management for children, adolescents, adults, and families affected by serious mental illnesses and significant emotional disorders. Services include peer support, therapy for adults and children, psychiatric services, psychiatric nurse services, a mobile clinic, school mental health, early intervention, hospital liaison services, and jail liaison services. The center also offers intensive community treatment, individual placement and support, community housing, intensive family services, and crisis response and intervention. The facility is CARF accredited and serves all patients regardless of ability to pay, offering discounted fees for qualified patients and accepting Medicaid, Medicare, and other insurance plans.
