About Siouxland Mental Health Center
Siouxland Mental Health Center is a nonprofit community mental health center serving all individuals of all ages for the evaluation and treatment of mental illness, individual or family emotional distress, and overwhelmingly stressful circumstances. Located in Sioux City with additional sites in Sergeant Bluff-Luton, Akron Westfield, and rural school districts, SMHC provides comprehensive mental health services with a focus on populations affected by access barriers including low-income, uninsured, and underinsured individuals. The center employs evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches grounded in dignity and compassion. Founded in 1969 to address unmet mental health needs in the community, SMHC continues its mission to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness.
