The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) Office of Mental Health is one of the leading providers of mental health treatment in the country, offering a comprehensive array of services for adults, children, and families. Since 1828, this statewide public mental health system has served South Carolinians across all 46 counties through community mental health centers, hospitals, and inpatient facilities. The organization provides counseling services and programs addressing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other mental health conditions. Services include emergency services, mobile crisis responses, office of suicide prevention programs, telepsychiatry, and school-based mental health services.
