Great to meet you

Singing River Mental Health/Intellectual and Developmental Disability Services (Region 14) has been serving the community for over 50 years. Established in 1972, they are one of 15 comprehensive mental health centers in Mississippi with facilities in Jackson and George counties. The organization provides community-based therapeutic services including individual, family, and group therapies. They serve multiple populations including adults, children, individuals with serious mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and those struggling with substance use and addictions. Services include mental health treatment, addiction services, psychiatric services, crisis and emergency intervention, intensive outpatient programming, inpatient care through the Steven's Center, employment services, day programs, and targeted case management. All individuals requesting services are screened to determine appropriate treatment recommendations. They offer both short-term and long-term treatment options and maintain a 24-hour crisis emergency line.

Evidence-based approaches

Cognitive behavioral therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Spots the thought-feeling-action loops that fuel urges, then rewires them with practical skills you take into the moment.

Couples/family therapy

Family Therapy. Brings the people closest to the recovery into the room. Less about blame, more about updating the patterns that fed the cycle so the home becomes part of the recovery.

Group therapy

Group Therapy. A small facilitated circle where people working on similar struggles practice naming what is hard, hearing themselves in others, and learning skills together. The room is the medicine.

Integrated mental and substance use disorder treatment

Integrated Treatment. Treats addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions in the same plan, rather than sequentially. Most clinically effective when both are present.

Individual psychotherapy

Individual Psychotherapy. One-to-one sessions with a licensed clinician. The standard-bearer of mental-health care; most evidence-based plans build around it.

Telemedicine/telehealth therapy

Telehealth Therapy. Real clinical sessions delivered over video. Same evidence base as in-person care for most conditions; meets you where you actually are instead of where the office is.
