Community Counseling Services (CCS), also known as Region VII Mental Health/Intellectual Disabilities Commission, is a state-certified, 501(c)3 non-profit community mental health center in Mississippi. Formed under the Federal Community Mental Health Centers Act of 1963 and organized by the Mississippi State Legislature, CCS provides quality, affordable, consumer-oriented, comprehensive behavioral health services. The organization serves both adults and children with culturally sensitive, community-based services designed to enable clients to attain their highest level of individual and family functioning in the least restrictive environment. Services include outpatient therapy, psychiatric/physician services, crisis response services, day treatment services, substance use disorder treatment, intellectual/developmental disabilities services, supported employment, peer support services, and targeted case management. CCS operates multiple county offices across Mississippi and serves all patients regardless of ability to pay, with intake fees determined based on income and insurance coverage.

What a first session looks like

Virtual & In-Person

You will need to schedule an intake with the office of the county you reside in. At intake, you should bring state-issued picture ID, proof of household income, social security card, insurance cards, and proof of residence. The intake fee is determined based on source of income and applicable insurance coverage and is discussed when scheduling. Payment is expected at the time of service.

Activity therapy

Activity Therapy. Structured therapeutic activities, recreation, movement, hands-on tasks, used as a vehicle for connection and emotional regulation. Often paired with talk therapy in residential and group programs.

Cognitive behavioral therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Spots the thought-feeling-action loops that fuel urges, then rewires them with practical skills you take into the moment.

Group therapy

Group Therapy. A small facilitated circle where people working on similar struggles practice naming what is hard, hearing themselves in others, and learning skills together. The room is the medicine.
