Prospect House is a non-profit charitable corporation founded in July 1970 to provide long-term residential drug and alcohol treatment to men without money, insurance, or other resources. Located in the Price Hill neighborhood of Cincinnati on Hawthorne Avenue, the organization operates 60 treatment beds plus 19 additional alumni beds in the surrounding area. The program offers a minimum six-month structured residential treatment program for alcoholics and drug addicts, with a three-quarter-way residential program for men who have progressed further in recovery. Services include medically-indigent residential treatment, professional counseling through group work and individual sessions, referrals for psychiatric and medical care, and vocational rehabilitation assessment. Prospect House provides specialized programs including the Black Support Group for the African-American community, Welcome Home Group for veterans with PTSD and substance abuse, Life After Bars for ex-offenders, Focus groups for chronic relapsers, services for gambling addiction, family groups, and dually-diagnosed treatment in collaboration with the Veterans Hospital and Health Resource Center.
