Freeman Health System is a locally owned, not-for-profit health system located in Joplin, Missouri, comprising Freeman Hospital West, Freeman Hospital East, Freeman Neosho Hospital, Freeman Fort Scott Hospital, and Ozark Center, which is the area's largest provider of behavioral health services. The system operates as a 460-bed, three-hospital system serving more than 450,000 people across Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. Freeman employs more than 350 physicians representing over 90 specialties and provides comprehensive healthcare including cancer care, heart and vascular care, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, and children's and women's services. The health system was ranked No. 1 in Southwest Missouri by U.S. News & World Report and earned more than 90 individual awards for medical excellence and patient safety in 2022.
