Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission founded in 1954 committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty in the Heartland (Omaha, Nebraska and Southwest Iowa). The organization provides safe shelter for men, women, and families experiencing homelessness, serves nutritious meals daily, and offers homeless prevention resources including food pantries, diapers, clothing, and household items at no cost. Open Door Mission operates over 40 life-changing programs, including the New Life Recovery and Foundations Programs, designed to empower individuals to become self-sufficient, contributing members of the community. The organization also provides access to a free Health and Wellness Clinic with medical visits and an expanded Behavioral Health Department that works with men, women, and children to address mental health challenges.
