Northern Lakes Community Mental Health Authority (NLCMHA) is a publicly funded mental health authority serving six counties in northern Michigan: Crawford, Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Missaukee, Roscommon, and Wexford. The organization provides services to adults with serious mental illness, children with serious emotional disturbance, persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and persons with co-occurring substance use disorders. NLCMHA offers crisis services, day programs, drop-in centers, clubhouses (psychosocial rehabilitation centers), and treatment for substance use and co-occurring disorders. A 24-hour crisis line is available at (833) 295-0616. The organization operates on a sliding fee schedule and does not deny services based on inability to pay. Language assistance services are available free of charge.
