About Northeast Ohio VA Healthcare System

The VA provides mental health services to Veterans and transitioning service members through a network of VA medical centers and Vet Centers. Services address posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, military sexual trauma (MST), anxiety, grief, suicide prevention, and substance use problems. Over 1.7 million Veterans received mental health services at the VA in the prior year. Services range from peer support with other Veterans to counseling, therapy, medication, or combinations thereof. Telemental health options are available for Veterans unable to access facilities in person. The Veterans Crisis Line provides 24/7 confidential support at 988 (select 1), text 838255, or chat. Mental health services are accessible regardless of discharge status, service history, or VA health care enrollment.
