New Mexico Asian Family Health Center
About New Mexico Asian Family Health Center
NMAFC (New Mexico Asian Family Community) was founded in 2006 by a circle of Asian women to address the lack of culturally and linguistically tailored services for the state's Pan-Asian community. Originally starting with counseling and case management services, the organization has expanded to include survivor-led and centered services, programs using traditional methods of healing, youth and community leadership programs, financial education workshops, cross-racial movement building, and civic engagement work. The organization is based in New Mexico and operates from a social justice lens. All services and programs are offered in multiple Asian languages, with phone interpretation and community interpreters available for languages not spoken in-house.
