Great to meet you

New Hope is a non-profit residential and outpatient alcohol and drug treatment facility located in South Dade County, Florida. Founded in 2008, the organization serves adult men facing chronic substance abuse, severe and persistent mental illness, and/or homelessness. Their integrated approach addresses clients' psychological, social, physical, and spiritual needs through education, group support, therapy, medication, and skills training. The program combines 12-step support with evidence-based practices and professional psychiatric, psychological, and medical resources. Pastoral counseling based on Christian principles is also available. New Hope has expanded to include specialized services such as street outreach for homeless individuals, support for homeless veterans, and a drop-in center in South Miami-Dade County.

Evidence-based approaches

12-step facilitation

Twelve-Step Facilitation. Helps you engage with mutual-aid fellowships (GA, AA, SMART) as a recovery community rather than a solo grind.

Group therapy

Group Therapy. A small facilitated circle where people working on similar struggles practice naming what is hard, hearing themselves in others, and learning skills together. The room is the medicine.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic Therapy. Explores the older patterns and unconscious dynamics underneath the surface behavior. Slower than skills-based work, deeper on the questions of why you reach for the thing you reach for.

Faith-based

A therapeutic approach included in this provider’s plan of care. Contact for specifics on how it shows up in their work.

Medication-assisted treatment

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). Pairs FDA-approved medications with counseling and behavioral therapy. Standard of care for opioid and alcohol use disorder; emerging evidence in gambling for impulsivity-targeting agents.
