Great to meet you

Native American Connections (NAC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1972 that provides shelter, affordable housing, and culturally competent healing services in the Greater Phoenix area. Operating 26 sites and serving approximately 10,000 individuals and families annually, NAC addresses homelessness, addiction, and wellness with a focus on Native American communities. The organization offers addiction treatment (outpatient and residential for substance use and co-occurring disorders), comprehensive healthcare services, mental health support (screenings, evaluations, and referrals), and over 1,000 units of income-based and affordable housing plus emergency shelter services. NAC integrates Native American culture and traditions into its service delivery, preserves indigenous identity, and educates communities about Indian boarding school history and its lasting trauma.

Evidence-based approaches

Cognitive behavioral therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Spots the thought-feeling-action loops that fuel urges, then rewires them with practical skills you take into the moment.

Dialectical behavior therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Pairs acceptance with change. Especially useful when emotions feel too big to ride out without acting on them.

Group therapy

Group Therapy. A small facilitated circle where people working on similar struggles practice naming what is hard, hearing themselves in others, and learning skills together. The room is the medicine.

Integrated mental and substance use disorder treatment

Integrated Treatment. Treats addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions in the same plan, rather than sequentially. Most clinically effective when both are present.

Individual psychotherapy

Individual Psychotherapy. One-to-one sessions with a licensed clinician. The standard-bearer of mental-health care; most evidence-based plans build around it.

Telemedicine/telehealth therapy

Telehealth Therapy. Real clinical sessions delivered over video. Same evidence base as in-person care for most conditions; meets you where you actually are instead of where the office is.
