Great to meet you

National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) provides community-based advocacy and care management services for children, youth, and families across multiple states. The organization operates over 60 community-based programs using trauma-informed, strengths-based, family-centered practices. NYAP serves families in Ohio (including Allen, Auglaize, Champaign, Clark, Darke, Hardin, Greene, Logan, Madison, Miami, and Shelby counties) and Florida (Duval, Nassau, Pasco, and Pinellas counties). The program emphasizes keeping families together in their communities while providing holistic services tailored to individual needs. NYAP also operates the La Jornada program, which serves unaccompanied children and youth who have experienced deprivation, violence, and human trafficking, offering transitional foster care, long-term foster care, and home study/post-release services.

Addiction

Evidence-based approaches

Trauma-informed care

Trauma-Informed Care. Approaches addiction as something layered on top of unprocessed trauma, not in isolation. Pacing matters more than confrontation.

Family systems

Family Systems work. Brings the people closest to you into the recovery picture, since urges and relationships rarely live in separate boxes.

Strengths-based

A therapeutic approach included in this provider’s plan of care. Contact for specifics on how it shows up in their work.

Cognitive behavioral therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Spots the thought-feeling-action loops that fuel urges, then rewires them with practical skills you take into the moment.

Couples/family therapy

Family Therapy. Brings the people closest to the recovery into the room. Less about blame, more about updating the patterns that fed the cycle so the home becomes part of the recovery.

Group therapy

Group Therapy. A small facilitated circle where people working on similar struggles practice naming what is hard, hearing themselves in others, and learning skills together. The room is the medicine.

Integrated mental and substance use disorder treatment

Integrated Treatment. Treats addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions in the same plan, rather than sequentially. Most clinically effective when both are present.

Individual psychotherapy

Individual Psychotherapy. One-to-one sessions with a licensed clinician. The standard-bearer of mental-health care; most evidence-based plans build around it.

Telemedicine/telehealth therapy

Telehealth Therapy. Real clinical sessions delivered over video. Same evidence base as in-person care for most conditions; meets you where you actually are instead of where the office is.
