Northwest Louisiana Human Services District is a Local Governmental Entity created by Act 373 of the 2008 Louisiana Legislative Session and became fully operational on July 1, 2014. The district provides mental health, addictive disorder, and developmental disability services to residents across nine parishes in Northwest Louisiana: Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, DeSoto, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine, and Webster. As one of 10 LGEs in Louisiana, the district operates within a statewide integrated human services delivery system with local accountability and management. The organization's mission focuses on increasing public awareness and providing access to integrated community-based services that promote wellness, recovery, and independence through education and a broad range of programmatic and community resources.
