Maniilaq Association is a non-profit, tribally operated organization dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of rural Arctic communities in Northwest Alaska. Based in Kotzebue, the organization has been a provider of health, social, and tribal services for over 30 years. Maniilaq serves 12 federally recognized tribes across a 38,000-square-mile area with approximately 8,000 residents. The organization offers Behavioral Health Services including individual grief counseling, crisis support, and community-based mental health services. Services are available through walk-in counseling, phone, video conferencing, and in-person sessions. The organization provides culturally responsive care to the Maniilaq Service Area, which includes villages in Northwest Alaska.

Virtual & In-Person

For grief counseling services, call Ashley Nies at 907.442.7645 to connect with a therapist via phone, Zoom video conferencing, or in person. For general Behavioral Health Services intake, call 907-442-7640 Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Walk-in individual grief counseling is available every Monday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM for Maniilaq Service Area residents.
