Louisville VAMC
About Louisville VAMC
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs provides free mental health services to Veterans and transitioning service members regardless of discharge status or VA health care enrollment. Services address PTSD, depression, anxiety, military sexual trauma, suicide prevention, and substance use problems. Veterans can access care through VA medical centers, Vet Centers, or telehealth options. Over 1.7 million Veterans received mental health services at VA last year. Services range from peer support with other Veterans to counseling, therapy, medication, or combinations thereof. The VA also offers online self-help portals, smartphone apps, and the BeThere peer assistance program for Veterans and their families. Crisis support is available 24/7 through the Veterans Crisis Line.
