Lake Area Counseling Halfway House

Freedom House Recovery Center has supported individuals living with behavioral health diagnoses and their families since 1974. The center began as a small detox program and has grown into one of the largest providers of behavioral health services in the region, headquartered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with additional outpatient clinics in Durham, Roxboro, and Warrenton. Services include a continuum of care with six residential services programs for substance use recovery, a 16-bed facility-based crisis unit, and a 24/7/365 mobile crisis team. Programs offered include intensive outpatient treatment, substance abuse comprehensive outpatient treatment, medication-assisted therapy, medication management, individual and family therapy, group therapy, and psychiatric evaluations. The center operates with a holistic, person-centered approach grounded in the belief that recovery is possible.
