Great to meet you

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Shelton, Connecticut, with more than ten years of experience working with people navigating gambling disorder, trauma, and addiction. I hold dual certification in gambling counseling at both the ICGC-I and ICGC-II levels, and I am trained in EMDR. My work focuses on the full range of gambling presentations, including casino and slot play, sports betting, and online gambling, and I often see these alongside trauma histories or other substance and behavioral concerns. In our work together, you can expect a direct and supportive approach. I draw on EMDR, DBT skills, and client-centered therapy depending on what fits your situation. Sessions are available in person in Connecticut and through telehealth across the state. Most people I work with come in feeling like they have tried everything or do not know where to start. My goal is to help you slow things down, understand what is driving the behavior, and build a path that actually holds. I was a founding provider on Cope Compass because I believe people dealing with gambling harm deserve easier access to specialized care.

What a first session looks like

Virtual & In-Person

Our first session is a conversation, not an intake form read aloud. I will ask about what is going on right now, how long it has been a concern, and what has or has not helped before. I will ask about gambling specifically, including the types, frequency, and what the experience feels like for you. I will also ask about your broader life context, including stress, relationships, and any history of trauma or other substance use. You do not need to have everything figured out before we meet. Best fit if

You are in the right place if you are dealing with gambling that feels out of control, whether it is just starting to worry you or has been a problem for years. This includes sports betting, casino play, slots, or online gambling. I also work with people who are managing trauma or other addictions alongside gambling. If you are not sure whether what you are experiencing counts as a problem, that uncertainty is reason enough to reach out. I am not equipped for active psychiatric crisis or inpatie

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. A structured trauma therapy that helps the brain re-file painful memories so they stop hijacking the present.

Motivational interviewing

Motivational Interviewing. A collaborative conversation that strengthens your own reasons for change rather than arguing you into it.

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Spots the thought-feeling-action loops that fuel urges, then rewires them with practical skills you take into the moment.
