Great to meet you

Kansas Children's Service League (KCSL) is a statewide organization that works to prevent child abuse and neglect, support parents, promote school readiness, and educate communities. KCSL serves as the state chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America. Through evidence-based programs, skill-building, and community partnerships, KCSL helps families overcome adversity and create positive childhood experiences. Their services are designed to help children and parents develop skills necessary to succeed in their homes, schools, and workplaces. KCSL's goal is to create, repair, and restore healthy parent-child relationships, which they believe are the foundation of a strong family.

Role

Therapist

Evidence-based approaches

Activity therapy

Activity Therapy. Structured therapeutic activities, recreation, movement, hands-on tasks, used as a vehicle for connection and emotional regulation. Often paired with talk therapy in residential and group programs.

Cognitive behavioral therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Spots the thought-feeling-action loops that fuel urges, then rewires them with practical skills you take into the moment.

Dialectical behavior therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Pairs acceptance with change. Especially useful when emotions feel too big to ride out without acting on them.

Individual psychotherapy

Individual Psychotherapy. One-to-one sessions with a licensed clinician. The standard-bearer of mental-health care; most evidence-based plans build around it.

Telemedicine/telehealth therapy

Telehealth Therapy. Real clinical sessions delivered over video. Same evidence base as in-person care for most conditions; meets you where you actually are instead of where the office is.
