Janus of Santa Cruz is a full-service substance use disorder treatment center located in central California, founded in 1976 by physician Dr. Robert G. O'Briant. The organization serves over 2,500 clients and families annually and offers a comprehensive scope of programs including detoxification, residential treatment, perinatal treatment for pregnant women and those parenting young children, medication-assisted opioid treatment, intensive outpatient programs, drinking driver programs, counseling services, sober housing, overdose prevention education, and a sobering center. The treatment philosophy emphasizes a social model approach and recognizes that individuals respond to different treatment modalities. They provide a continuum of care from residential treatment through sober living and supportive housing to support ongoing recovery.
