Helpline Youth Counseling Inc

Helpline Youth Counseling (HYC) has served Southeast Los Angeles and Long Beach youth and families since 1971, eliminating barriers to self-sufficiency and empowerment in the community. The organization offers Enhanced Care Management (ECM), a free statewide benefit available to eligible Medi-Cal members in California, focusing on addressing both clinical and non-clinical needs of high-need individuals through coordinated services and comprehensive care management. Services include outreach and member engagement, comprehensive assessment and care planning, coordination of care across providers, health promotion, transitional care for individuals moving in and out of hospitals or treatment facilities, and coordination of referrals to community and social support services. HYC serves multiple qualifying populations including adults and children/youth experiencing homelessness, individuals at risk for avoidable hospital or emergency department utilization, those with serious mental health or substance use disorders, and children and youth involved in child welfare. The organization also operates a Mental Health Advocacy project that includes a podcast designed to create stigma-free conversations about mental health.
