About this practice
About
Guiding Light is a faith-based addiction recovery organization that offers long-term residential programs for both men and women. The men's program is a four-month residential experience in a downtown location that provides a structured environment with evidence-based practices, life-coaching, spiritual direction, therapy, support groups, psycho-social education, and exercise. The women's program offers a similarly designed four to six-month recovery process with day-programming at a location on Aquinas College's campus, along with residential housing. Both programs are offered at no cost to participants through donor support. After completing the main program, participants can transition to long-term sober living options: Iron House, a community of renovated apartments in Kentwood for men working full-time, and Ruth's House and Esther's House for women. The organization emphasizes service, community involvement, and spiritual transformation as core components of recovery. Guiding Light also provides community outreach including food assistance, support group meetings, and holiday meals to neighboring organizations and community members in the Heartside area.
