About this practice

About

Gentle Path at The Meadows is a specialized treatment program located on a 35-acre campus in the Sonoran Desert, one hour from Phoenix, Arizona. The program is founded and directed by Dr. Patrick Carnes, a world-renowned expert on sexual addiction with over three decades in the field. The facility treats adult men 18 and older struggling with sex addiction issues, including sexual compulsion, pornography addiction, relationship addiction, sexual anorexia, and other sexual behaviors causing distress. The program addresses underlying emotional trauma and co-occurring substance abuse and mental health conditions, believing trauma underlies most conditions including sex addiction. Treatment combines diverse modalities including EMDR, somatic experiencing, neurofeedback, small group sessions, expressive arts, wellness and holistic approaches, 12-step facilitation, and spirituality counseling. The program employs group and one-on-one therapy with peer support to address each person's unique needs.
