Great to meet you

FortySeven Main is a small residential therapeutic community for men living with mental illness, serving more than fifty years. The program houses eleven residents in a safe, structured environment where meaningful work, shared living, and mutual support form the foundation for recovery. Residents participate in a weekday work program involving tasks such as animals, art, carpentry, cooking, gardening, and sugaring, which provide routine, purpose, and vocational training. The program emphasizes an individualized approach, creating tailored treatment plans that meet each resident's specific needs and support their personal goals. FortySeven Main operates as a therapeutic community rather than a traditional treatment center, with residents and staff living and working together to build practical skills, discover purpose through contribution, and strengthen independence.

Evidence-based approaches

Family systems

Family Systems work. Brings the people closest to you into the recovery picture, since urges and relationships rarely live in separate boxes.

Group therapy

Group Therapy. A small facilitated circle where people working on similar struggles practice naming what is hard, hearing themselves in others, and learning skills together. The room is the medicine.

Trauma-informed care

Trauma-Informed Care. Approaches addiction as something layered on top of unprocessed trauma, not in isolation. Pacing matters more than confrontation.
