About this practice

About

The Muscogee Nation Department of Health operates a large tribal health system headquartered in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, serving the Muscogee Nation, the fourth largest federally recognized tribe in the United States with more than 100,000 citizens. Established in 1977, the system delivers a variety of health services throughout an 11-county Reservation spanning 4,811 square miles. Services include community hospitals, Indian health clinics, behavioral health and substance use programs, public health services, maternal and baby programs, and an on-demand virtual clinic. The system serves citizens of federally recognized tribes and operates under an Indian Self-Determination compact with the Indian Health Service, providing greater flexibility in service provision to the tribal population.
